“A Place Called Weeping”

We are all on a journey! Sometimes it’s filled with rainbows and unicorns but sometimes we trek through seasons that feel like what is described in Psalms 84 as the “Valley of Weeping.”

I’ve spent my fair share of time in that valley, but what I know is that God is the same in the valley as He will be when get through it. Often times a the real beauty is not getting through the valley, but finding joy in the “low” place….finding that cool spring!

I love a good “valley” God encounter. They always seemingly mean more or maybe it’s easier to see just how big God is when your in a low place.

The less than favorable spots that you can find yourself, the place where hoping feels hopeless did not catch the Lord by surprise. So knowing that He knows my beginning and my end, I press my hand firmly in his, and proceed THROUGH the valley. I choose not to stay there (but even if I did, He is with me), and because I have “valley” experience I charge you to keep pressing forward! The other side of the valley is much better than you ever imagine.

I love reading the Message Bible Translation…

“And how blessed all those in whom you live, whose lives become roads you travel; They wind through lonesome valleys, come upon brooks, discover cool springs and pools brimming with rain! God-traveled, these roads curve up the mountain, and at the last turn—Zion! God in full view!”
